If you have only a short time for visit Peru, the best way to travel is by air. The Lima's International Airport Jorge Chávez (LIM) is the main hub to local flights connections. Cuzco, Arequipa, Iquitos and Juliaca (Puno) has connection flights among them.

The flights schedules to destinations located in the Andean zone (Cuzco, Juliaca - Puno, Arequipa) usually are programmed in the morning, beginning from 6:00 AM. The schedules for west coast, eastern and north jungle are programmed till midday until 10:00 PM. Flights after 10:00 PM are not usual. The Lima's International Airport Jorge Chavez is opened to all people the 24 hours and its security is too much controlled; there is a hotel inside to the airport. It's 45 minutes from the city. The internal airports of Peru are opened to people only during the time of commercial flights and is not recommendable to stay there out of these hours.

Flights from Asia or Oceania to Peru, connection by USA or Europe. Jorge Chávez International Airport (Airport code LIM) in Lima is the main gate for international flights and it's the main hub to local flights connections. Peru's main international and domestic air hub, Jorge Chavez International Airport, was once again successful at the 2012 World Airport Awards held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Vienna, taking the award for Best Airport in South America. For the fourth consecutive year, the airport in Lima was voted the best in the region by Skytrax Research, a prestigious London-based market research consulting firm specialized in the airline and air transport industry. In addition to this award, the country’s main airport terminal was bestowed the Best Airport Staff in South America award. It is worth mentioning that Skytrax Research gave this same award to Jorge Chávez in 2009 and 2011.
